Emerging Lotus Yoga School

Hatha Yoga with Classical Foundation & Modern Integration.

The Emerging Lotus Yoga School offers an in-depth, small-group education in authentic yoga asana, rooted in Ayurvedic principles and taught with intention by Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist & experienced educator, Lisa Owens.

Additional unique qualities of this school's format is the allowance of leisure within the training. Due to integration with retreat planning, the intense training days are not as intense as other immersive, & in-person programs.

This is designed for those who want to understand yoga & mind-body wellness beyond trends—those ready to engage with its classical foundations and lead with clarity, steadiness, and skill. Those who do and do not anticipate teaching yoga classes are encouraged to apply.

Students who complete all four modules will meet Yoga Alliance certification requirements. However, even a single module offers deep, practical tools to lead safe, energetically-aware, and rhythm-attuned classes.

To support accessibility, the modules may be taken out of sequence; however, placement into Modules 2–4 requires prior experience or completion of earlier modules, as appropriate. Learn more about Lisa.

Module 1 "Foundations in Asana"

This immersive, in-person training is the first module of the Emerging Lotus Yoga School (ELYS) 200-hour program. It is open to anyone with a sincere interest in yoga and some personal practice experience—whether or not you intend to complete all four modules.

If you’re ready to build a personal yoga practice or teaching style grounded in Ayurvedic wisdom, you’re encouraged to apply. Unsure if it’s the right time? You’re warmly invited to speak with Lisa before registering.

What We Explore in Module 1

  • Meet you where you are, right now. Why & how do I develop a regular personal practice?

  • What are the transformational & nourishing potentials of yoga and Ayurveda? How do they aid vitality?

  • What are the core tenets of yoga and teaching yoga?

This module centers on asana as a foundation, not as performance. We study posture from the lens of intelligence, energetics, and rhythm, with the understanding that yoga is not a workout—but a healing system. When practiced with intention, asana supports physical and mental clarity, preparing the ground for deeper practices like meditation.

“It’s all practice, not perfection. Being on the path is enough—there is no hurry to any certain destination.”

— Lisa Owens
